I've looked it up but am not clear on what it is and what it means. Is it a technique issue that can be addressed or something inherent in the way I'm built.

heel

Hey Coach,

I have recently begun to feel tightness in my achiles (sp?) for the first time. I train a lot in hilly terrain and I was wondering what is the proper technique when running down hill. Body postion, etc. I want to mantain/increase speed without losing form and putting undue strain on legs. I have the tendenecy to go into "Whoa" mode instead of using the decline to my advantage.
